Your first month in the gym
Small steps, good form, and a routine you can actually stick to.

Start where you are
Begin with a manageable routine rather than an ambitious schedule you cannot maintain. Two or three sessions a week can be a practical starting point. Ask a coach to help you choose movements that suit your goals and experience.
Learn the movement first
Use light resistance while you learn. Controlled movement and a comfortable range matter more than the number on a weight plate. Stop if you feel sharp pain and speak with a qualified professional.
Make it repeatable
Choose days you can consistently attend, prepare your kit in advance, and record a few simple measures of progress. Confidence, energy, and consistency count alongside strength.
